For work, I visit Taipei at least once a year, but most of those visits are limited to a couple of days of meetings and then crashing after work – this time in Taipei was the first time I’ve visited Taipei for leisure – and because of previously enjoyable experience, I decided to book us into the Le Meridan Taipei – this time with the Club Suite.
The hotel is quite modern and every time I’ve stayed here for work, it’s been quite comfortable. The hotel has a bit of an “art” spin to it and you can see installments around the hotel – including one of their more famous artists – JuMing

Check-in was very swift and they recognised my Starwoods Gold status (pretty much permanent with the Amex Platinum) – and soon we were in the Club Suite Room.
The room itself has plenty of space for just 2 people – and was very comfortable in terms of the bedding and cleanliness; one thing that did annoy me slightly was the shower door not fully closing and hence water leaks out.
The Gym
With most hotels – I try to make sure there’s at least a small gym so that I can work off the huge amounts of food that I’d consume – Le Meridian Taipei thankfully has a fully equipped gym.

The Club Lounge
With the Club Suite, you get access to the Lounge, which offers up some nibbles and also happy hour – the Lounge is nothing compared to Intercontinental Singapore – Club Lounge – Review but it was still a comfortable and relatively quiet place to relax. One guest said multiple times she wasn’t going to have the nibbles but went back about 6 times.
Le Meridian Taipei is very comfortable, and I haven’t been disappointed so far – however, I’d say that given the Suite is so big, there’s not really a need to upgrade to have Lounge access since that you don’t get “that” much more.
