Intercontinental Osaka – Review

For our Easter trip, we visited Osaka, which is a city that we’ve been to before (before I started taking snapshots and documenting everything!) The first time we visited Osaka about 5 years ago was a little different in that Ms Buddha and I just started work and budget was a bit more of a constraint back then, we still managed to stay at a very nice hotel overlooking the Osaka Castle; but the hotel was slightly away from the center of Osaka, and given that we only had Easter to enjoy Osaka, we went with Intercontinental Osaka, which is located right in the middle of the city.

The Intercontinental Osaka is located at Osaka station, but located in the Grand Front Osaka Building which is about 10mins walk from the actual station. The walk is pretty pleasant and direct given that you’re under cover (like many Japanese cities) the whole walk there and can take a look at the shopping centre.

Check-in was incredibly smooth and they recognized the fact that I was an Ambassador Gold member (which really is worth every penny to be an Ambassador). We got a King Corner Room this time and I was impressed!

The room wasn’t “huge” but for a short trip, it was more than enough, and the bathroom was excellent – a shower and separate bath – something that I treasure so much! And as an ambassador member, we also got a massive fruit bowl.

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to take a photo of the gym, honestly a bid odd why I didn’t (maybe to respect other’s privacy) – but the gym is properly excellent. You can borrow clothes and headphones, which is a massive plus because it means you do not need to keep smelly clothes around for cleaning after the trip. During one of the nights, I also ordered room service (which I’ve been doing a bit more lately) because frankly, the price is just slightly more than outside and cheap compared to the prices in Hong Kong.

Cheese plate was absolutely delicious!

The lobby itself is located on a higher level to begin with so no matter what level you’re at, you get a pretty decent view of the city. The hotel is really immaculate, and the service is always 110%! I also fell in love with some of the pieces that were shown at the lobby.
