If there is one food that everyone thinks about when you talk about visiting Singapore, it has to be Hainanese Chicken Rice; and one of the more popular stores in Singapore is Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice at the Maxwell center.

When you get there, you have to be extra careful because there are a LOT of stores who try to imitate Tian Tian by having the same colour board – so if you’re searching, remember this sign!

Ordering is on one side and then you pick up the food from another window, my giant appetite got the better of me and I ordered half a chicken with rice.

When it comes to Hainanese chicken, the texture is incredibly important, and Tian Tian’s chicken was very tender and the flesh was incredibly flavourful – to top that off, the skin was delicious (I know chicken skin is not healthy – but if you’ve chosen to eat Hainanese chicken – you need to have the skin).
Whilst the chicken was delicious, the thing that took the cake for me was actually the rice – it was absurdly delicious and being a rice geek – I can see myself just eating buckets of it! The texture of the rice was just the right firmness and the way they’ve made the rice meant that every grain was packed with flavour – I would come again just for the rice alone!
