One thing that I love about travel is the ability to experience the variety of hotels available – and for my alone trip to Singapore, I decide to burn a bit of Hyatt points and stayed at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
The ride there from the airport takes about 30mins and the location itself is whilst on Scotts road, is only around the corner from Orchard Road, which is where the main shopping strip is at.

Check-in is very smooth and I was in my Club Deluxe King room in next to no time – which is always appreciated because I’m not a huge fan of the “Room Tour” where you’re taught how to use a tap.
The room wasn’t a suite, but frankly for one person, it might as well be – there was a living room area which was massive and very comfortable in its own rights.

In the same area, there’s also a work desk that I ended up spending a lot of time there and appreciate more and more the value of a decent work space in the room – especially one that doesn’t face a mirror or a wall…

The “bed-room” itself was incredibly nice and comfortable – there’s another sofa there and the design of the room made it thoroughly enjoyable to lie back and enjoy a premier league game that night.

The slight disappointment was more the bathroom, where the toilet is situated right next to the bath and kind of difficult to maneuver around it.

Overall – the room is excellent in terms of comfort, and frankly for one person (even for two in my opinion) – it’s more than ample room to just relax – the ambience is also very simplistic to allow you to just focus on work. One minor issue was the TV was stuck on the same channel the whole time even when I tried to fix it – wasn’t too bad of an issue when there’s another TV in the room – but was a little puzzled.
