The great thing about having a car when traveling is the ability to head a bit outside the city where you’re staying and have a bit of flexibility to your plans. When we were in Madrid – we decided to make out of those day trips out to Toledo.
Toledo, is a very picturesque town which was named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO all the way back in 1986 – it is a city where religion and culture clashed – being influenced heavily by Christians, Muslims and Jews throughout it’s deep history.
Parking wasn’t too difficult as there were paid car parks dotted around the city (roads are narrow though so be careful) – for those looking to spend the entire day there – you can consider getting a “tourist bracelet” for 9 EUR which will give you access to a few of the key places – it saves you about 5 EUR if you visit all the sites.

The city itself is amazing and an excellent place to just get lost and just absorb the beauty – enjoy.
